Islet cell Transplantation

Islets are isolated from donor organs through an elaborate digestive process.  Islets are thoroughly cleaned and inspected according to strict criteria for purity, sterility and function.  They are then infused via the hepatic vein into the patient's liver, where they establish themselves and increase insulin production.
