About us

The Pneumologische Klinik Waldhof Elgershausen is an emergency hospital taking care for all kinds of patients with lung diseases. In addition to the main foci mentioned above, patients with orphan lung diseases (such as alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency, Karthagener's syndrome, bronchiectasis, and others) are examined.
Moreover, the Hospital has broad expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of other internal diseases, such as gastrointestinal diseases, or heart and cardiovascular diseases.
The Hospital is KTQ (Cooperation in Transparency and Quality in Health Care) certified, takes regularly part in patient surveys and is a member of disease-specific networks of hospitals, cooperating regionally and nationally (in case of lung cancer, for instance, with the Gießen-Marburg University Hospital and the Kerckhoff Clinic at Bad Nauheim, with a Lung Cancer Center being set up).
Considerable medical expertise, committed care and personal devotion, as well as pastoral care and psychosocial care options, are the foundations that support our work. For this reason, the Hospital, which looks back at a hundred year's history (founded in 1901), is well equipped to face the future.
