The Kitzinger Land Clinic is located near Wurzburg in Franconia, one of the most well-known wine-growing and tourist areas in Germany. The Hernia Center at the Main Triangle is a unit of the Department of General, Vascular and Abdominal Surgery and was distinguished in 2013 as the second hospital in Germany to be rated as a Centre of Excellence for Hernia Surgery. In hernia surgery, we are committed to the so-called tailored approach and we look for the individually best solution for each patient. For many years, we have conducted open lecture events for doctors from across the whole of Germany on minimally invasive hernia surgery. Thanks to our collaboration with a renowned specialist in plastic and reconstructive surgery, complex abdominal wall reconstruction can also be performed in the department.
Further emphases of the department are oncological and non-oncological abdominal surgery. In 2010 and 2013, the department was certified as a Centre of Excellence for Surgical Coloproctology. We perform a large part of our procedures as minimally invasive, that is, using the so-called keyhole technique. Recently, an ultramodern 3-D video tower has been made available to us. The German General and Abdominal Surgery Society has certified us as a Centre of Excellence for Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS). An experienced departmental head of vascular surgery enables us to perform all surgical and interventional procedures for improving blood flow.
The Kitzinger Land Clinic is conveniently located at the Biebelried motorway junction (A 3 – A 7). There is adequate parking available. Frankfurt a.M. and Nuremberg airports are only an hour away by car and there are excellent rail connections.
