Ultrasound including Doppler and Duplex ultrasound
Local tumor therapies on various organs
Diagnostic angiography and angiographical interventions
Mammography and interventions on the breast
The Institute of Radiology uses every modern imaging procedure, in order to gain a view into the inner body of the patient. With the aid of such an image, it is possible to receive detailed knowledge about the localization and the extent of the disease. In this way the diagnosis can be made on a safe footing and the treatment can be adapted and monitored to best advantage.
The Institute of Radiology provides the clinical departments and the Institutes of the clinic with all imaging examination techniques. A special focus of the Clinic is the treatment of patients with tumors. The Roman-Herzog-Krebszentrum, Comprehensive Cancer Center (RHCCC) was founded in order to optimize the collaboration of the different disciplines here. The Institute of Radiology is centrally connected with this.
Over 100,000 radiological examinations were carried out in 2009. This number reflects the considerable experience of the Institute. A modern RIS/PACS facility allows a quick and smooth transmission of the findings and images, as well as the digital recording of the corresponding findings.
Special value is placed on close interdisciplinary and friendly cooperation with clinical colleagues and those in private practice.
