The spectrum of the department includes surgical and conservative urology in its entirety including all techniques of stone treatment as well as kidney transplantation.
Main fields of interest: Urooncology with special consideration of cystoprostatectomy and anterior exenteration with orthotopic bladder replacement or continent urinary diversion, radical prostatectomy (also potency preserving, robot-assisted) and organ preserving renal tumor surgery, reconstruction of the upper and lower urinary tract extending to the replacement of the entire urinary tract with formation of a substitute bladder and kidney transplantation, general and complex reconstructive pediatric urology as well as gynecological urology.

67 beds (including eight beds on the Urological Intermediate Care Unit) in the Center for Surgical Medicine (ZOM) which was placed into operation in 2004. Exclusively single or double rooms with shower/toilet, telephone and TV, wireless lan (also rooming-in units). The patients can choose their meals. Interpreting services are available.
