About us

As one of the first independent vascular departments in Germany, the Department of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery has been treating patients with acute and chronic vascular diseases since 1976. We are recognized as an interdisciplinary vascular center by the Deutsche Gesellschaft fuer Gefässchirurgie (DGG, German Association for Vascular Surgery) and the Deutsche Gesellschaft fuer Radiologie (DGR, German Association for Radiology). We possess the authorization to offer specialist training in vascular surgery and the additional qualification in phlebology. We have 63 beds available and perform about 3,500 inpatient and 1,100 outpatient surgeries as well as an additional 600 percutaneous interventions with an increasing tendency each year. We place a great emphasis on the interdisciplinary cooperation with our radiologists, angiologists, neurologists, nephrologists and diabetologists in order to guarantee optimal patient care. Special consultation hours are offered for different disorders. With two modern hybrid ORs available, we are able to perform open surgical and endovascular interventions combined in one go. Due to these excellent diagnostic and therapeutic opportunities, we can offer an extensive treatment spectrum to our patients.
