Prof. Dr. Dr. med. Konstantinos Gousias ist ein hoch angesehener und erfahrener Arzt im Athens Medical Center in Athen. Über Clin. Professor Dr. med. habil. Dr. med. Dr. Konstantinos Gousias

Ein enormer Vorteil des Athens Medical Center ist die interdisziplinäre enge Zusammenarbeit zwischen verschiedenen Fachabteilungen und akademischen Mitarbeitern, die zusätzliche akademische Positionen in renommierten Universitätszentren in Deutschland, Großbritannien und den USA erhalten haben. Dadurch wird eine präzise und umfassende Versorgung von Patienten mit neurologischen und neurochirurgischen Erkrankungen wie Hirntumore, Schlaganfällen, Hirnblutungen, Hirnverletzungen, Epilepsie, Multiple Sklerose, Wirbelsäulenerkrankungen sowie traumatischen Verletzungen des Gehirns und Rückenmarks rund um die Uhr gewährleistet. Hier arbeiten Neurochirurgen, Neurologen, Anästhesisten, Neuroradiologen, Radiologen und weitere Spezialisten eng zusammen, um eine ganzheitliche Betreuung zu bieten. Die Bedürfnisse und Anliegen der Patienten stehen im Mittelpunkt, und es wird großen Wert auf eine offene Kommunikation und eine individuelle Betreuung gelegt. Die Experten des AMC nehmen sich die Zeit, um jeden Patienten gründlich zu untersuchen, die Diagnose zu stellen und gemeinsam mit dem Patienten einen maßgeschneiderten Behandlungsplan zu erstellen.

Die Neurochirurgischen OP-Säle im AMC sind sehr modern und umfassend ausgestattet, dies erlaubt dem Neurochirurgischen Team um Prof. Dr. Dr. Gousias innovative minimal invasive Verfahren im Bereich der onkologischen und vaskulären Neurochirurgie sowie in der Wirbelsäulenchirurgie durchzuführen. Des Weiteren, stehen unseren Patienten, neben den aktuellen etablierten Therapien, auch zahlreiche zusätzliche experimentelle Therapien zur Verfügung, insbesondere in der Behandlung von Hirntumoren. Bemerkenswert ist, dass die von Prof. Dr. Dr. Gousias geleitete Abteilung die einzige griechische neurochirurgische Abteilung ist, die ein Institut der Europäischen Organisation für Forschung und Behandlung von Krebs (European Organization of Research and Treatment of Cancer, EORTC) ist.

Aktiv in Forschung und Lehre

Neben seiner klinischen Tätigkeit ist Chefarzt Prof. Dr. Dr. med. Gousias auch aktiv in der Forschung und Lehre. Er hat eine Vielzahl an Buchartikeln und wissenschaftlichen Artikeln veröffentlicht, wobei er selber in der Redaktion verschiedener renommierter Fachzeitschriften involviert ist.

Er fungiert als klinischer Leiter in verschiedenen internationalen und nationalen multizentrischen Studien. Er ist regelmäßig auf nationalen und internationalen Konferenzen präsent, wobei er sehr häufig eingeladene Vorträge hält.

Durch sein Engagement in der Lehre und Ausbildung junger Medizinstudenten und Ärzte trägt er zur Weiterentwicklung und Verbesserung der Universitären Ausbildung und medizinischen Versorgung bei. Er hat die ‚venia legendi‘ (Berechtigung zur Hochschullehre) von den Medizinischen Fakultäten der Universitäten Bonn, Münster und Nicosia erlangt.

Darüber hinaus verfügt Prof. Dr. Dr. med. Gousias über umfassende Managementkenntnisse und ist zertifizierter Gesundheitsmanager sowie Fachkraft für Qualitätsmanagement. Seine wissenschaftlichen Schwerpunkte liegen in den Bereichen experimentelle und klinische Neuroonkologie, Neuroimmunologie und neurovaskuläre Forschung. Prof. Dr. Dr. med.
