As a maximum care hospital, the Neurosurgery Clinic at the Vivantes Hospital, Neukoelln in Berlin covers the field of neurosurgery with the most up-to-date standards. The Department of Neurosurgery is the core clinic of the Neuro Centre / Neurovascular Network and of the Vivantes Head and Base of Skull Centre. Moreover, the Clinic heads an interdisciplinary Spinal Centre and an interdisciplinary Centre for Neuroaugmentation / Neurostimulation / Pain Therapy. The highly competent, experienced and dedicated team is there for you, 24 hours a day, every day of the year.
Assistant Lecturer Dr Andreas Joedicke heads the Clinic, which focuses on the care of complex neurosurgical conditions in the region of the head and the base of the skull and on brain surgery, as well as spinal surgery. Recommendations and decisions concerning the diagnosis and surgical intervention are discussed and determined in various interdisciplinary conferences (neuro-oncology tumour board; base of the skull board; spinal board; pain therapy board). Thus, it is ensured that a recommendation can always be made in conjunction with the required specialist disciplines. The careful surgical planning, including the most up-to-date functional techniques for complex surgical procedures, the high degree of surgical expertise, the monitoring of the relevant core functions during surgery and the experienced postoperative monitoring and care ensure the most optimal course of treatment possible, with personal care and support.
