Dr René Malzkorn is a specialist surgeon and an acknowledged spinal specialist with many years of experience in the field of the conservative and surgical treatment of conditions and deformities of the spine. Thanks to his numerous further qualifications, he also specialises in the orthopaedic, conservative treatment of the entire musculoskeletal system, including the joints, ligament and capsule structures and the muscular, tendon and fascia systems. The highest priority is the recognition and treatment of dysbalances, deficits and asymmetries of the musculature of the torso and the extremities.
Here, Dr Malzkorn’s therapeutic portfolio includes so-called infiltration, i.e. the introduction of medication into the joints, soft tissue structures or veins, extracorporeal shock wave therapy, which is utilised, for example, for tennis elbow or golfer’s elbow or for calcareous shoulder, vibration training to build up the torso and leg musculature, as well as cryotherapy and taping. Therapeutic techniques such as acupuncture and magnetic field therapy also form part of the range of services of Dr. Malzkorn.
Dr Malzkorn has worked as a licensed physician in his private practice for conservative treatment techniques in Nagold since 2010, where, together with his wide range of therapeutic services, he also provides comprehensive diagnostic investigation, for example, by spinal measurement, muscular function analysis, as well as ultrasound and laboratory investigations. With the aid of these diagnostic investigations, he is able to create an effective therapeutic plan, tailored to the individual needs of the patient, from the various treatment options available. As well as his activity at his private practice, Dr Malzkorn has also worked as a medical consultant at the Max Grundig Hospital in Buehl since 2011, where he heads the Orthopaedic Check-up Section.
Dr Malzkorn completed his medical studies at the University of Dusseldorf from 1990 to 1998, after he had completed his earlier training as a physiotherapist, also at the University of Dusseldorf, from 1986 to 1988. Dr Malzkorn completed his specialist training as a surgeon at the Calw Hospital from 1998 to 2003, before he moved to the Department of Spinal Surgery at the SRH Hospital in Karlsbad-Langensteinbach in 2003. There, under Prof. Juergen Harms, Dr Malzkorn headed the Clinic for Interventional Therapy and the Paediatric Clinic for Spinal Deformities as a Consultant from 2006 to 2011.
Thanks to his long years of experience and his comprehensive training in spinal surgery, which he gained not only in Germany, but also in Barcelona, Paris, Brussels and Milan, Dr Malzkorn enjoys a high level of recognition as a specialist.
