About us

Prof. Dr. med. Markus Kröber is a consultant in orthopedics and trauma surgery specializing in spinal surgery. He enjoys an excellent, international reputation in the field of spinal surgery. Professor Kröber has been honored with the award of a Master's Certificate from the German Spine Society (DWG): this is only given to recognized spinal surgeons who have occupied a senior position for many years, and who possess comprehensive scientific expertise. In his previous posts, including at the University of California, San Francisco, the Orthopedic Clinic of Heidelberg University and, most recently, as the Senior Consultant of the Department of Orthopedics, Traumatology and Spinal Surgery at the Asklepios Klinik Altona in Hamburg, Professor Kröber has continued to specialize even further and to expand his knowledge of the latest scientific research in these areas. Since January 2018, Professor Kröber has been able to apply his vast experience as the Chief Consultant of the Clinic for Orthopedics, Emergency and Spinal Surgery at the Helios Clinic Rottweil.

The clinic treats patients with all types of spinal disorders and injuries. It also specializes in acute trauma care, and in treating acute and chronic orthopedic conditions. Professor Kröber's particular focus is on spinal surgery as a multi-professional combinatory approach involving orthopedics, conservative pain therapy and surgery. The range of conditions treated here is equally diverse, ranging from degenerative changes (deterioration) in the spine and intervertebral disks to acute injuries, post-traumatic or congenital/acquired deformities (kyphosis and scoliosis). Individual and holistic treatment approaches can also be developed personally for you for tumors of the nervous system and osseous spine, rheumatic changes, chronic pain syndromes and osteoporosis. If a secondary or follow-up treatment is required after previous operations, you will find Professor Kröber and his team of experts are highly competent to respond to your concerns.
