Dr. Anna Maria Kubiak, innovative head of gynecology at the Sachsenhausen Hospital of the Deutscher Gemeinschafts-Diakonieverband GmbH (DGD), is a highly qualified specialist in gynecology and obstetrics with a particular specialization in minimally invasive surgery. She is one of the few women in Germany to hold MIC III certification from the German Gynecological Endoscopy Association - the highest award in this field.
Dr. Anna Kubiak started out as a junior doctor at her parents’ group practice, then worked at the University Women’s Clinic in Düsseldorf before joining DGD Sachsenhausen Hospital at the beginning of 2015. Under the guidance of Dr. Philipp-Andreas Hessler, a pioneer of the keyhole technique, she further developed her surgical skills. She received her MIC II certificate in 2018. She has been working as a senior physician since 2019, received her MIC III certificate in 2023 and took over the position of Chief Physician in June 2024. Dr. Kubiak completed her doctorate in the field of endometriosis.
The gynecology department at Sachsenhausen Hospital treats a variety of conditions such as myomas, heavy menstrual bleeding, incontinence, uterine prolapse, endometriosis and ovarian cysts. Chief Physician Dr. Kubiak takes a patient-oriented perspective and combines this with her medical expertise to offer the best possible individual treatment.
She also uses the minimally invasive method to correct uterine prolapse and vaginal prolapse using the body’s own material in the form of the thigh tendon. She also employs the mini-minimally invasive method of suture suspension of the uterus at the pectineal ligament. Dr. Kubiak attaches great importance to mesh-free minimally invasive methods, especially as primary or secondary treatment. Preservation of the uterus and the desire to have children are not a problem here.
Dr. Kubiak has also introduced mini-minimally invasive methods at the hospital, such as the treatment of stress incontinence with Bulkamid, a method that is particularly suitable for women who want to have children or who need to return to everyday life quickly, or for multimorbid women. Another minimally invasive method is suspension of the uterus or vagina with a thread (not mesh) – so-called unilateral pectineal suspension.
Her passion for medicine and her commitment to her patients are reflected in her work.
The surgical gynecology department at DGD Sachsenhausen Hospital, which is equipped with state-of-the-art operating theatres and 3D visualization technology, is one of the leading centers for minimally invasive gynecological surgery in Germany. The hospital currently treats 16 percent of cases in an area that includes Frankfurt, Offenbach, Hanau and the Main-Taunus and Hochtaunus districts. Dr. Kubiak is proud to continue this tradition and to further develop and consolidate the excellent reputation of the laparoscopy school at DGD Sachsenhausen Hospital.
Sachsenhausen Hospital, which was founded as the first special clinic for diabetics in Europe, has developed over the years into a district hospital with 211 beds and a high level of specialization.
