About us

The Cologne Hernia Centre specialises in the treatment of various types of hernia. The Centre has many years of experience and a high level of specialist competence in the treatment of inguinal, abdominal wall and umbilical hernias, as well as incisional hernias. The rate of recurrent hernias and chronic pain is very low. This is verified by continual quality controls. Approximately 1,000 hernia operations are performed annually at the Cologne Hernia Centre, as ambulant or in-patient surgery, open or minimally-invasively, depending on the individual requirements of the patient and of the hernia condition. The Cologne Hernia Centre is a competent point of contact for patients with hernias, not just for regional patients but also across Germany. The practice bears the Seal of the German Hernia Association – quality-assured hernia surgery.
