Dr Jochen Peter is a specialist in vascular surgery and possesses the Advanced Training Certificate in Phlebology of the German Association for Phlebology (DGP). At the practice for venous surgery in Wiesbaden, Dr Peter and his team provide a comprehensive range of services, extending from diagnosis and out-patient treatment of venous conditions to performing surgery with a brief in-patient stay. At the same time, Dr Peter’s objective is invariably to provide his patients with the most up-to-date and the safest techniques for the treatment of vascular conditions and to guide the practice in accordance with the current state of the art. Regular training courses and convention attendance are therefore a given for all employees. Accepting responsibility for the patients and invariably protecting their interests in the selection of the right treatment and finding the best treatment approach are also important to Dr Peter and his team. The focus of Dr Peter and his team is on the treatment of varicosities, spider veins and venous thromboses of the leg. Thereby, above all, minimally invasive, endovenous laser therapy for varicose veins forms a particular performance focus of Dr Peter. Dr Peter’s range of services also includes surgical treatment techniques such as vein stripping. A second focus of Dr Peter is also on the performance of more aesthetic procedures. Hence, for example, he offers the removal of spider veins by means of sclerosis or laser therapy, as well as wrinkle treatment with botulinum or hyaluronic acid. Dr Peter initially completed his specialist training in the General Surgical Department of the Markus Hospital in Frankfurt, before moving to the Department of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery at the Frankfurt University Hospital in 2010. Here, he earnt his specialist qualification as a vascular surgeon under the renowned vascular surgeon, Prof. Schmitz-Rixen, and worked as an Acting Consultant between August 2013 and January 2015.
Dr Peter’s wide experience and expertise in the fields of vascular surgery and phlebology is demonstrated by a large number of published articles in relevant specialist journals and presentations at conferences and in advanced training courses. His scientific paper on Hughes-Stovin syndrome was awarded a prize in 2013 by the German Surgery Association (DGC). Dr Peter is also an active member of a large number of specialist associations, including the European Society for Vascular Surgery (ESVS), the German Vascular Surgery and Vascular Medicine Association (DGG), the German Phlebology Association (DGP), the Professional Association of German Surgeons (BDC), the Independent Vascular Surgeons’ Association (ANG) and the German Aesthetic Botulinum Toxin Therapy Association (DGBT).
