About us

Prof. Mark Schrader has been the Chief Physician of the specialist Department of Urology at the Helios Hospital in Berlin-Buch since April 2014. He also leads the Prostate Center, the Testicular Cancer Center and the Calculus Center here in accordance with the current medical knowledge. With his wide experience and with empathy, the highly qualified expert in andrology and urology undertakes the holistic treatment of patients with conditions of the kidneys, urinary tract and male reproductive organs. Prof. Schrader completed his studies in human medicine at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz, followed by research stays at Harvard and Boston. In 1994, Prof. Schrader obtained his doctorate in Mainz and earned his license to teach with his appointment as a professor in the discipline of urology at the Charité – University Medicine in Berlin.

Prof. Schrader shares his scientific expertise in the field of urology, not only in numerous specialist publications, but also at the ASCO (American Society of Clinical Oncology) cancer conference in Chicago. Here, Prof. Schrader lectures on new therapeutic options for tumors of the prostate and the urinary bladder. The patients in the Department of Urology benefit directly from the combined expert knowledge of the hospital. As a multicenter site, the Helios Hospital in Berlin-Buch is also highly specialized in the comprehensive treatment and counseling of patients with testicular tumors.
