The Medical Health Care Center at MVZ im Helios in Munich-Neuhausen is a joint practice that specializes in the medical disciplines of orthopedics, neurosurgery and anesthesia. The joint practice was founded in 1993 by the two specialists in orthopedics Dr. med. Heribert Konvalin and Dr. med. Werner Zirngibl. Medical patient services have been continuously expanded since 1999 together with Dr. med. Steffen Zenta and, later on, with Dr. med. Felix Söller. Nowadays the team of medical staff at MVZ im Helios is made up of recognized, highly qualified and experienced medical specialists who work together across four floors to treat patients with wide-ranging disorders, diseases and injuries relating to the locomotor system as gently and as successfully as possible. In the process, the treatment spectrum of MVZ im Helios in Munich ranges from degenerative and inflammatory diseases of the bones, joints and muscles through injuries to the intervertebral disks and spinal instabilities to abnormal foot positions and sports and accident injuries. So that it can offer the best possible treatments under one roof for all these different disorders, MVZ im Helios is divided into five specialist centers focusing on the areas Spinal Column, Shoulder, Knee and Hip, Hand and Elbow as well as Ankle and Foot.
In these specialist centers, the specialized practitioners of MVZ im Helios cover the full scope of modern orthopedic and neurosurgical diagnostics and treatment. So that we can accurately diagnose orthopedic injuries and disorders, at MVZ im Helios we not only use X-ray equipment and ultrasonic units, but also additional diagnostic methods like MRI imaging, the DEXA method, 4D measurement of the spinal column and electronic foot pressure measurement. The range of therapeutic services comprises both conservative and surgical treatment methods, although surgery will generally not be considered at MVZ im Helios until no further improvement can be achieved with conventional methods. The conventional treatments used at MVZ im Helios in Munich include extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ESWT), acupuncture, neural therapy and diagnostic testing of muscle functions with kinesiology. In cases where surgery can no longer be avoided, the specialists at MVZ im Helios will choose a treatment that is not only gentle on the patient and low-risk, but one that uses state-of-the-art methods and latest medical technology, for example using minimally-invasive or microsurgical methods.
