Professor Dr. med. Nicolai El Hindy specializes in robotically navigated spinal surgery, an area in which he is one of the pioneers in Germany. With the use of the ultra-modern “ExcelsiusGPS®” surgical robot, he sets standards in the precision, safety and minimally invasive nature of surgical procedures on the spine. He also focuses, among other things, on motion-preserving disc prostheses in the cervical and lumbar spine - a procedure that allows patients greater mobility and quality of life compared to conventional fusion operations. In addition to his surgical work, Prof. Dr. El Hindy is also intensively involved in international training and further education. He trains colleagues from all over the world in the use of robot-assisted surgery and is a regular speaker at renowned specialist congresses. His expertise includes not only modern spinal surgery, but also classic neurosurgery with interventions for tumors of the brain, vascular malformations, trauma and degenerative diseases of the spine. His in-depth training, his former position as senior physician and his professorship form the basis for his comprehensive clinical and scientific expertise.
The Clinic for Neurosurgery and Spinal Surgery at St. Marien Hospital Lünen covers the entire spectrum of neurosurgery and is closely integrated into an interdisciplinary network.
