About us

Prof. Rainer Siebold is a knee specialist at the International Center for Orthopedics at the ATOS Hospital in Heidelberg and has 15 years of specialist experience in orthopaedics and accident surgery. Prof. Siebold has also been the holder of a special chair at the Medical Faculty of the University of Heidelberg, where he trains prospective medical practitioners, since 2014. He is a member and an honorary member of prestigious national and international specialist associations, publishes contributions in specialist publications and gives lectures at international specialist conferences. He receives various bursaries and prizes for his scientific work.

With around 850 procedures on the knee annually, Prof. Siebold, however, concentrates exclusively on the special field of the knee joint. Thus, he has achieved outstanding specialist competence and can therefore help to provide better mobility and hence a better quality of life for his patients with an exceptionally high degree of satisfaction. Independent portals comparing doctors have distinguished the expert again and again over a number of years as an established knee specialist.

Although the entire knee joint is the centre of Prof. Siebold’s attention, he specialises, in particular, in cartilage cell transplantations, meniscal suture, cruciate ligament replacement and the treatment of children’s knee joints. In particularly difficult cases, Prof. Siebold can frequently avoid a complete joint replacement. Here, minimally invasive partial prosthesis of the knee joint allows the structure to be maintained by preserving the healthy sections of the joint.
