There is still no patent remedy for a lasting youthful appearance with beautiful, firm and wrinkle-free skin. With increasing age, the skin inevitably becomes more coarse-pored.
However, many men and women want to conceal their age and radiate youthful freshness.
Laser treatment makes the skin thinner and thinner with every application. Microneedling is a new and useful treatment method in anti-ageing medicine to combat
- wrinkles on the face and décolleté,
- coarse-pored skin,
- thinning hair or
- stretch marks.
Microneedling, also known as medical needling, does not require any surgical intervention.
There are no risks associated with microneedling treatment. The procedure is therefore a very good alternative to a facelift.
- Microneedling for facial wrinkles: If facial wrinkles are not extremely pronounced, microneedling works like a facelift without a scalpel.
- Microneedling for thin hair: Microneedling stimulates the blood circulation in the scalp so that the scalp hair can become significantly thicker.
- Microneedling for stretch marks and scar treatments
Microneedling involves light needle pricks in the upper layer of the skin. A so-called needle roller is used for this. This is a roller with hundreds of very fine, small needles. Needle pens are also suitable for microneedling.
These punctures trigger the skin's natural wound healing process. The body produces more collagen as a result. Collagen is mainly responsible for the skin's firmness and elasticity.
However, the effect of collagen formation through microneedling is not visible immediately after the procedure. The body needs a certain amount of time to produce collagen.
In principle, microneedling with the dermaroller can be used universally: on all areas of the body and all skin types.

In practice, a microneedling session is carried out as follows: The patient is given a local anesthetic cream to apply to the areas to be treated. This must be left on for approx. 20 minutes.
The dermaroller is then used to "roll" the wrinkled skin vertically, horizontally and diagonally.
This creates thousands of small micro-wounds. Collagen forms in the depth of the invisible micro-wounds as a result of the body's own wound healing phase. The very small and approx. 1.5 to 2 mm deep puncture sites heal quickly and without scarring.
The skin is then slightly swollen and reddened. The next day, the area looks like a slight sunburn. Do not expose yourself to the blazing sun for a few days. Working is possible without further ado.
The patient can apply a cream containing vitamins A and C to the affected areas of skin every day. The vitamins support skin renewal and therefore promote optimal results.
Dermabrasion or laser treatment removes layers of skin. The thinner the skin, the more sensitive it is to environmental influences, e.g. the sun. This causes spots to appear on the skin or gives it a parchment-like texture.
Microneedling is a so-called non-ablative procedure: In contrast to other skin rejuvenation procedures , microneedling does not thin the skin. Instead, the doctors make use of the natural skin regeneration possibilities.
No artificial substances need to be injected into the skin.
There are also rollers for home use. Here, however, the needles are not as long and do not really penetrate the skin.
It is a complementary measure, but the effect cannot be compared with medical needling.
Microneedling is only applied once. If the wrinkles are more pronounced, microneedling can be repeated after six months.
In the hair area, four sessions are carried out at intervals of two to three months.
The cost of microneedling is between €400 and €1200 per treatment, depending on the amount of work involved.
