Urogenital Diseases

Diseases of the urogenital system affect the urinary organs as well as the external and internal reproductive organs. These include the kidneys, the bladder, the urethra, and the ureters. The male urogenital system also includes the penis and testicles with the internal epididymis, the prostate, the seminal vesicles, and the vas deferens. In women, the female urogenital tract consists of the external vulva, the vagina, the uterus, the fallopian tubes, and the ovaries. Endometriosis—the growth of uterine lining tissue outside the uterus in the abdominal cavity—is the most common female pelvic disorder. In men, prostate conditions are common diagnoses.

Urogenital diseases can affect either individual areas of tissue or entire systems. The International Classification of Diseases (ICD-10) describes diseases of the urogenital system using codes N00 through N99 in Chapter XIV.
