The private clinic for plastic and aesthetic surgery Sinis Klinik Berlin covers the entire spectrum of plastic surgery and hand surgery.
A focus area of the department is breast reconstruction after breast cancer via autologous tissue transfer. We apply modern microsurgical techniques in order to achieve an optimal result for our patients. Excess tissue from the abdomen is used (DIEP) in order to microsurgically fix this tissue between the rips and the chest wall and form a new breast. The abdominal wall is then closed via tummy tuck. Additionally, such microsurgical breast reconstructions can also be carried out by using tissue from the buttocks (s-GAP) as well as the thigh (TMG). The harvesting areas are then closed via buttock or thigh lift. Furthermore, all established procedures in plastic breast surgery are offered. To these belong the treatment of deformities of the breast such as tubular breast as well as breast reduction, breast lift and breast augmentation with or without silicone implants. In this area, we also put an emphasis on using only modern surgery methods.
Furthermore, the department offers special consultation hours for the microsurgical treatment of nerve injuries and their sequelae. The Department of Plastic, Hand and Reconstructive Microsurgery is a recognized competence center for the treatment of injuries concerning the brachial plexus (shoulder-arm plexus). Microsurgical procedures as well as tendon and muscle transfers are combined in order to return function to the extremities. This does not only apply to injuries in adults but also to so-called birth trauma injuries of the brachial plexus. However, not only the nerves of the extremities are microsurgically reconstructed. Another focus area of the consultation hours for disorders concerning the nerves is the reconstruction of facial nerve paralyses. These facial nerve paralyses are successfully treated by nerve transplantation as well as muscle transplantations and tendon transfers in order to give back a symmetric smile and an exceptional wink to the patient. Furthermore, the department treats skin tumors in the facial region as well as on the whole body. Both basal cell carcinoma and black mole cancer (melanoma) are surgically removed and the surface of the skin is reconstructed according the guidelines of aesthetic and plastic surgery. The department is also a leader in the treatment of wound healing deficits and chronic wounds such as in chronic foot ulcer or positional pressure ulcers. For their treatment, skin grafts and autochthonous skin transfers are used in order to rebuild the integrity of the body surface.
The department is also leading in the treatment of patients after massive weight loss. This so called post bariatric surgery offers the possibility to remove excess body skin as part of German public health insurance treatment. This includes tummy tuck, thigh and arm lift, breast and buttocks lift as well as the so called total body lift.
Furthermore, the Department of Plastic, Hand and Reconstructive Microsurgery offers special consultation hours for burn injuries during which acute as well as older burn injuries can be presented. It is our goal to improve a patient’s overall image and aesthetic appearance by use of different plastic surgical methods and, if necessary, to optimize function (e.g. joint contractions).
Just as in plastic surgery, we also offer the complete spectrum of hand surgery. This comprises emergency treatment such as the treatment of chainsaw injuries, amputations and other emergencies as well as the plannable spectrum of hand surgery. The plannable spectrum includes both ‘small’ and ‘large’ hand surgery. This entails Dupuytren’s contracture, nerve compression syndromes of the hand (among others carpal tunnel syndrome, ulnar nerve entrapment, Gyon’s canal syndrome), tenosynovitis and trigger finger, treatment of osteoarthritis (e.g. basal joint arthritis and osteoarthritis of the fingers, the wrist, etc.), arthroscopy of the wrist and the removal of skin, soft tissue and bone tumors. Furthermore, we also treat congenital deformities of the hand (e.g. radial polydactyly, syndactyly, etc.) and perform microsurgical reconstruction of the thumb after accidents by transferring the big toe (toe transfer).
