About us

Dr. Bernward H. Mölle is board-certified by the Swiss Medical Association for surgery, specialized abdominal surgery (D), vascular surgery (D), proctology (D). His own outpatient department provides all conservative types of therapy and performs the entire range of diagnostics for anorectal diseases.

Every day including Sundays and holidays, the specialist in abdominal surgery, Dr. Mölle personally performs the surgical interventions as well as caring for the inpatients at the Hirslanden Hospital St. Anna in Lucerne.

Dr. Bernward H. Mölle's surgical activities focus on the diagnosis and therapy of diseases of organs of the abdominal cavity, including the endocrine organs, and the surgical management of inguinal and abdominal wall hernias. These may involve benign, inflammatory as well as malignant diseases.

Specifically the treatment of malignant tumors is managed in close cooperation with the general practitioner, gastroenterologists, radiologists and oncologists with the aim of achieving a therapeutic optimum. The practice of Dr. Mölle, who is also a specialist in proctology, additionally features a coloproctologic functional laboratory, equipped with ultramodern technology. This enables him to carry out targeted diagnostics of the anus and rectum, while also rendering direct treatment in an outpatient setting. This helps avoid additional delays.

Membership in the Surgery Center of Central Switzerland additionally affords patients access to the entire spectrum of minimally invasive, oncological, thoracic and vascular surgery disciplines. Regardless of the type of disease, the first point of patient contact takes place in the practice. Not until the necessary examinations have been performed will a very comprehensive and personal consultation take place. If an operation should be mandated, it will be performed after agreement by Dr. Mölle at the Hirslanden Hospital St. Anna in compliance with international guidelines and ideally by laparoscopy (keyhole surgery).
