The Department of General and Abdominal Surgery is a department with a reputation. We stand for the following emphases: large tumor surgery, gastric and intestinal surgery, proctology, thyroid surgery and key competence in hernia surgery (Hernia Center). At her previous place of activity, at the Asklepios Nord Hospital in Heidberg, Prof. Tonus and her team successfully performed over 1,500 hernia procedures and close on 7,000 surgical procedures on the intestines.
