The focus of the specialist in foot surgery is on the surgical and conservative treatment of chronic and acute conditions of the foot and ankle. Dr. Krapf’s work also focuses on biomechanical gait analysis of the feet.

Conservative treatments include, for example, the customization of special orthopedic shoes, insoles and ortheses, as well as targeted physical therapy application. Surgical procedures on the forefoot, midfoot and hindfoot and on the ankle include the treatment of hammer toes and claw toes, tendon displacement, infections, instability, bone fractures, osteoarthritis, ruptured tendon and prosthetic ankles, for example.

The specialists at the Dr. Krapf Foot Center work in interdisciplinary collaboration across a variety of specialist fields. Thus, the patient’s primary care physician, as well as, for example, rheumatologists, orthopedic shoemakers and physical therapists are closely involved in the treatment. This collaboration enables a comprehensive consideration and treatment of the patient’s condition.

The Orthopedic Biomechanics and Motion Analysis Laboratory under the medical supervision of Dr. Krapf provides state-of-the-art facilities and competent personnel; here, the patient’s condition can also be analyzed over and above the physical and x-ray examination.
