The clinical and scientific focus of Prof. Minar is vascular medicine (angiology). This field treats circulatory disorders in all vascular regions, for example. The personal focus of Prof. Minar is the minimally invasive (endovascular) treatment of circulatory disorders in the legs (peripheral artery occlusive disease and diabetic foot syndrome), as well as in the vessels supplying the brain (carotid arteries) for prophylaxis of stroke and in the renal arteries (for the treatment of hypertension). His expertise includes more than 3000 of these minimally invasive procedures. The investigation and treatment of aneurysms is performed in close collaboration with the radiologists and the vascular surgeons.
Another focus is the diagnosis and treatment of venous diseases such as varicosis and thrombosis. Together with his practice as a vascular specialist, Prof. Minar also works in the field of research and he collaborates with a variety of research institutions overseas. He is regularly invited to speak at the most important international conferences and he has edited several textbooks and advice booklets for patients.
