After completing her first residency, Dr. Negrean moved to Germany to continue her medical career and build on her expertise. In her doctoral thesis, she researched the influence of diet on vascular health in diabetes patients. She also successfully completed a second specialist training course in endocrinology, which gave her an in-depth understanding of hormonal and metabolic processes in the human body.
Today, Dr. Negrean is head physician at the Clinic for Diabetology and Endocrinology at St. Vinzenz Hospital in Cologne-Nippes, one of the leading institutions of its kind in Germany.
The clinic treats around 1,300 inpatients every year, with a particular focus on the treatment of diabetic foot syndrome and other chronic, non-healing wounds. The interdisciplinary approach has demonstrably helped to avoid unnecessary amputations in diabetes patients.
As the West German Center for Thermal Ablation, the clinic has been one of the first centers in Germany to perform minimally invasive treatment of thyroid nodules since 2015. In the field of endocrinology, the clinic offers a comprehensive range of state-of-the-art diagnostics and therapy.
Another focus is the hormonal assessment and treatment of obesity, which includes a diet change and the targeted use of approved medication.
Dr. Negrean is not only active in clinical practice but is also involved in research and the training of young doctors. She shares her extensive knowledge and experience with the next generation of doctors and receives great appreciation and gratitude from her patients.
