As a university hospital, we offer our patients skilful medical care across the field of ear, nose and throat, based on the latest scientific discoveries. Individual and personal care of both inpatients and outpatients is especially important here.
The clinic has 82 beds (single rooms, with bathroom, available on request), four operating theaters, equipped with cutting edge technology, and a new outpatient department with its own operating center.
The most important clinical focus lies on organ-preserving tumor surgery (laser therapy) integrated into an interdisciplinary tumor center, microsurgery on the ear to improve patients' hearing, including cochlear implants and implantable hearing aids, and functional, endoscopic surgery (FESS) for diseases of the nose and nasal sinuses.
Ultramodern precision instruments and computer-assisted navigation surgery are used in the surgical procedures mentioned above, up to the base of the skull. Other clinical focuses are salivary and thyroid gland surgery with cranial nerve monitoring to protect the face and vocal cord nerves, treatment of sleep-related breathing disorders (snoring), therapy for ENT diseases in children, plastic/reconstructive surgery and occupation related allergology.
The Ear, Nose and Throat Clinic also boasts a center for hearing skills and a department for psychosomatic medicine. MRI, CT and PET-CT diagnostics and modern radiotherapy are available at the clinic. If necessary, co-ordinated, interdisciplinary treatment of our patients may be carried out with other disciplines.
