Therapeutic services
Every year, we carry out approximatly 2,000 operations, 1,250 using the heart-lungmachine. Our four operation theaters are equipped with state of the art technical facilities, which enable us to carry out all current major operative procedures in the area of cardiac and thoracic surgery, under optimal conditions, with maximum safety for the patient.
In addition, we have a so-called "hybrid room" which merges operating theater and cardiac catheter laboratory in one place - diagnostic and therapeutic methods at one table. In this way, simultaneous treatment of the patient by the surgeon and the cardiologist is made possible for the first time.
We are thus able to carry out just one intervention where two would have been needed elsewhere, thereby saving time and keeping trauma for the patient to a minimum.
