Prof. Dr. Bergmann focuses on the treatment of allergies, sleep disorders, nasal and sinus diseases as well as functional and esthetic rhinoplasty. His ability to combine medical precision with empathetic care has been recognized several times by his inclusion in the FOCUS list of doctors, particularly in the areas of nasal surgery and anti-snoring surgery. The RKM740 clinic, whose name refers to its geographical location on the 740th kilometer of the Rhine in Düsseldorf, stands for interdisciplinary and holistic medical care. Here, modern conventional medicine is combined with complementary approaches such as Ayurveda to offer patients comprehensive treatment. This philosophy is also reflected in Prof. Dr. Bergmann's practice, which uses state-of-the-art diagnostic procedures and innovative therapies to promote the health and quality of life of his patients.
An important milestone in Prof. Dr. Bergmann's career was his two-year research stay at the University of Pittsburgh in the USA, where he deepened his knowledge of immunology under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Theresa Whiteside and Prof. Dr. Michael Lotze. This knowledge has had a lasting influence on his clinical work, particularly in the treatment of immunological aspects of head and neck tumors and later in allergology. After his return to Germany, he continued his specialist training at Essen University Hospital under the direction of Prof. Dr. Stephan Lang, where he headed a research group funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) as a senior physician. International stays at renowned medical centers such as the Head and Neck Tumor Center in Stockholm, the ENT Clinic of the Cantonal Hospital St. Gallen and fellowships with leading experts such as Prof. Stammberger in Graz/Austria and Prof. Castelnuovo in Varese/Italy deepened his knowledge, particularly in skull base surgery and paranasal sinus surgery. This comprehensive training enables him to offer both conservative and surgical treatment strategies at the highest level.
Prof. Dr. Bergmann has managed his ENT private practice at RKM740 since 2021 and is also a professor at the University of Duisburg-Essen, where he trains medical students in the field of ENT medicine. He is also involved in the Düsseldorf regional board of the Medical Association of German Allergists (AeDA) and as Secretary of the Working Group of the European Allergy Academy (EAACI) as well as a member of the examination board of the North Rhine Medical Association and the training committee of the Medical Academy. His scientific achievements have been recognized with the Anton-von-Tröltsch Prize and the Plester Prize, among others. With over 72 publications and presentations at international conferences, he has made a significant contribution to the further development of his specialist field.
In addition to esthetic and functional nasal surgery, his core medical skills include the treatment of allergic diseases, sleep disorders such as OSAS and insomnia, ear ventilation disorders, dizziness and balance disorders as well as the diagnosis and treatment of silent reflux using 24-hour pH metry. His patients also benefit from innovative therapies such as longevity infusions and digital volume tomography. Prof. Dr. Bergmann combines scientific excellence with a deep understanding of his patients' needs.
