About Prof. Dr. med. Fabinshy Thangarajah, FESGO-EBCOG
Prof. Dr Fabinshy Thangarajah, FESGO-EBCOG, is a specialist in gynaecology and obstetrics and the acting director of the Department of Gynaecology and Obstetrics at Essen University Hospital. Her clinical specialisms lie in gynaecological oncology, as well as in specialised obstetrics and perinatal medicine. Drawing on her many years of experience in cutting-edge university medicine, she cares for patients with benign and malignant gynaecological tumours in accordance with the latest scientific findings and to the highest medical standards.
Prof. Dr Thangarajah specialises in particular in the surgical treatment of gynaecological tumours and in modern minimally invasive and robot-assisted surgical procedures. As a SERGS-certified robotic surgeon, she possesses particular expertise in performing complex procedures with precision and minimal invasiveness. Her qualifications are complemented by the European FESGO-EBCOG diploma, as well as further recognised certifications in gynaecological oncology, colposcopy and clinical trial management.
Alongside her clinical work, Prof. Dr Thangarajah is deeply involved in research and teaching. A particular scientific focus is on the development of innovative diagnostic and therapeutic approaches in gynaecological oncology. These include, in particular, research into liquid biopsy techniques for personalised tumour therapy, as well as healthcare research projects aimed at continuously improving the quality of treatment and care for patients.
