Dr. Moustafa Elshafei, MD, FACS, is Chief of the Department of General and Visceral Surgery and Director of the Surgical Center at Marienhaus Klinikum Mainz. As a board-certified specialist in general and visceral surgery, he has many years of experience in advanced abdominal surgery and is committed to providing patient-centered care of the highest medical quality. Since early 2026, he has led the department, continuing the successful development of one of Mainz’s most respected surgical centers.

His clinical focus is on the treatment of digestive system disorders, oncologic surgery, and minimally invasive procedures. Particularly in complex surgical cases, Dr. Elshafei relies on advanced operative techniques, interdisciplinary collaboration, and individualized treatment strategies.
