Dr. Konstantinos Verginis is a board-certified specialist in vascular and endovascular surgery with extensive experience in treating complex arterial and venous diseases. As an active member of the German Society for Vascular Surgery (DGG) and the North Rhine Medical Association, he represents the highest level of professional expertise and modern therapeutic approaches. His focus lies on minimally invasive and open treatments of vascular diseases, particularly peripheral arterial occlusive disease (PAD) in the aorto-iliac and lower-extremity regions.
A key part of his medical scope includes the treatment of supra-aortic vessels, especially carotid reconstruction. Within the framework of a neurovascular center, more than 120 procedures – both open and endovascular – are performed annually. In addition, Dr. Verginis treats aortic aneurysms, diseases of the popliteal, visceral, and renal arteries, as well as a wide range of venous disorders such as varicosis, deep vein thrombosis (DVT), and thrombophlebitis. His expertise further includes the placement of port systems, pacemaker implantation, and surgical creation of dialysis access (shunt surgery).
Another core focus of Dr. Verginis is the diagnosis and treatment of chronic wounds of various origins – arterial, venous, or mixed. His specialized scientific expertise lies in the treatment of rare visceral and retroperitoneal compression syndromes, which are managed by only a few experts worldwide. These include celiac artery compression syndrome (Dunbar syndrome), superior mesenteric artery syndrome (Wilkie syndrome), nutcracker syndrome, May–Thurner syndrome, and pelvic congestion syndrome. These conditions are also the subject of his doctoral dissertation.
With his broad clinical experience, specialization in complex vascular surgical procedures, and modern, patient-centered therapeutic approach, Dr. Konstantinos Verginis provides highly qualified care for patients with all types of vascular diseases. Through his endovascular expertise and scientific background, he combines innovative technology with surgical precision – ensuring safe and sustainable treatment.
