Prof. Dr. med. Timo Zippelius is a board-certified specialist in Orthopedics and Trauma Surgery with the additional qualification in “Special Orthopedic Surgery” and serves as Head of Spine Surgery at SRH Klinikum Karlsbad-Langensteinbach. His academic and clinical career has taken him to leading university hospitals, including Charité Berlin, Jena University Hospital, and the Orthopedic University Hospital Ulm.
The focus of his clinical practice is the treatment of complex spinal disorders and injuries across the full spectrum of modern spine surgery. This includes both conservative and surgical management of degenerative conditions such as spondylolisthesis and spinal stenosis, revision spine surgery, and the surgical correction of pediatric spinal deformities such as scoliosis. Through his extensive clinical expertise, Prof. Dr. Zippelius combines patient-centered treatment strategies with anatomical and functional restoration.
At SRH Klinikum Karlsbad-Langensteinbach, Prof. Dr. Zippelius is part of the leadership team of the Spine Surgery Department, an interdisciplinary specialty unit that performs more than 2,500 procedures annually. The department works closely with specialized colleagues to integrate diagnostics, treatment planning, and surgical care, providing patients with comprehensive and coordinated treatment. In addition to his clinical work, he is actively involved in scientific networks and is a member of the German Spine Society (DWG) and the Professional Association for Orthopedics and Trauma Surgery (BVOU).
