Our defined goal is the absence of pain – even without surgery. Our concept: prevention – treatment – after-care.
We regard ourselves as the intermediate between the two still predominate pillars of orthopedics: conservative treatment with pain killers and physical therapy on the one hand and surgery on the other. We fill the gap in between. Our approach: as much as is necessary but as little as is possible.
In that regard, we also perform non-surgical interventions according to modern international standards in order to treat patients with spinal disorders (e.g. such as herniated disks, spondylolisthesis, spinal canal stenoses, problems with the facet joints), pains and osteoarthritis of the elbow, hip, knee, shoulder and ankle joints as well as sports injuries.
These interventions are combined with medically supervised training sessions in order to restore the patient’s mobility – especially for those who would have to undergo surgery otherwise. The patient’s requirements and lifestyle with the current disease are always at the center of our attention. This means: additionally, the patient’s eating habits and workplace situation will be taken into account and, if needed, analyzed where and when these habits can be optimized. Together with Dr. Topar and his team, concrete strategies will be worked out in order to treat each pain individually (e.g. back pains). Advantages of certain treatment methods are discussed as well as possible complications. A clear analysis of all available options (conservative, interventional or surgical) – from the prescription of drugs to minimally invasive therapy to physical therapy, psychotherapy to acupuncture and larger surgeries (which will be necessary in certain cases) – will help the patient to assess and take responsibility for their condition and make a decision.
Furthermore, it is also our goal for each patient to get to know their own body.
We emphasize a personal and individual consultation according to the patient’s needs. At our practice, everything is available on the premises, meaning short distances from diagnostics to therapy.
Dr. Topar is a board member of the Deutsche Gesellschaft fuer Wirbelsaeulentherapie (DGWT, German Society for Spinal Treatment) and a founding member of the GIW (Society for Spinal Interventions), as well as a member of the International Spine Intervention Society (ISIS). Dr. Topar and his team continually improve their education and only make use of state of the art therapy methods.
