About Prof. Dr. Tobias Weismüller

Prof. Dr. Tobias Weismüller is the Chief Physician of two clinics for Gastroenterology and Hepatology in Berlin and has well-established expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, the liver, bile ducts, and pancreas. A particular focus of his clinical work is on colonoscopy as well as on the evaluation and treatment of liver, biliary tract, and pancreatic diseases using modern diagnostic and interventional endoscopic techniques.

Colonoscopy is a central component of gastroenterological diagnostics and is used both for colorectal cancer screening and for the evaluation of unexplained gastrointestinal symptoms. Prof. Dr. Weismüller performs screening and diagnostic colonoscopies as well as therapeutic endoscopic procedures, including complex interventional techniques such as endoscopic resection of large polyps or early-stage carcinomas.

Another major focus is the diagnosis and treatment of liver and biliary tract diseases. This includes, among others, the evaluation of elevated liver enzymes, inflammatory and metabolic liver diseases, as well as disorders of the intrahepatic and extrahepatic bile ducts (bile duct tumors, bile duct stones). Treatment is provided in accordance with current clinical guidelines and based on the latest scientific evidence, with endoscopic procedures playing an important role. Prof. Dr. Weismüller has particular expertise in the field of primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC), which has been his clinical and scientific focus for more than 20 years.

In addition, Prof. Dr. Weismüller has extensive experience in the diagnosis of pancreatic diseases. His range of services includes the evaluation of acute and chronic pancreatic conditions as well as the diagnosis and treatment of pancreatic cysts and tumors. Specialized techniques such as endoscopic ultrasound or ERCP are used for detailed assessment of the pancreas and for interventional procedures (biopsies, placement of drainage devices).

Prof. Dr. Weismüller combines a high level of subspecialty expertise with many years of clinical experience and state-of-the-art medical technology. The goal is precise diagnostics and individualized treatment of gastroenterological diseases at a high medical standard.
