Prof. Dr. Jörn M. Schattenberg is Director of the Department of Internal Medicine II at Saarland University Medical Center (UKS) in Homburg, encompassing the specialties of gastroenterology, hepatology, endocrinology, diabetology, and nutritional medicine. In this role, he is responsible for medical care, strategic development, and interdisciplinary collaboration within the department – a leading center for diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, liver, biliary system, and metabolism.
As a distinguished scientist, Prof. Schattenberg is dedicated to translational research and clinical trials with the aim of advancing innovative diagnostic and therapeutic approaches in hepatology, gastroenterology, and internal medicine.
