PD Dr. med. habil. Paul Gaß, MHBA, has served as Chief Physician of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Klinikum Chemnitz since early 2025. As a board-certified specialist in obstetrics and gynecology, he brings extensive experience from his previous position at Erlangen University Hospital.
Dr. Gaß is a recognized specialist in gynecologic oncology, with a particular focus on breast cancer, gynecologic malignancies, and dysplasias. This specialization makes him a key point of contact for patients with complex oncologic and gynecologic conditions.
Under his leadership, the department sees itself as a modern center for comprehensive, interdisciplinary women’s health care – ranging from diagnosis and treatment of diseases affecting women to guideline-based obstetric care. Dr. Gaß is committed to evidence-based medicine, the highest professional standards, and the continuous development of existing care structures.
In addition, promoting young physicians is a matter of particular importance to him: he contributes his many years of experience and medical expertise to academic teaching within the local model curriculum in human medicine (MEDiC) and actively supports the education and continuing professional development of the next generation of gynecologists.
With PD Dr. Gaß, Klinikum Chemnitz gains a leader who combines clinical excellence, oncologic expertise, and a modern, holistic approach to care – for the benefit of patients and for high-quality medical care in the region.
