Privatdozentin Dr. med. Daniela Pierscianek is a nationally and internationally recognized expert in neurosurgery as well as specialized neurosurgical intensive care medicine. She combines many years of clinical experience with outstanding scientific expertise and has served as Chief Physician of the Department of Neurosurgery at St. Marien Hospital Lünen since December 2025. Following her habilitation in 2021 at the University of Duisburg-Essen, she has established herself as a leading point of contact for complex neurosurgical issues.
A particular focus of her scientific career is primary brain tumors. Dr. Pierscianek conducted research for two years at the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) of the World Health Organization in Lyon, where she worked intensively on the biology and treatment of primary brain tumors. This international research experience continues to shape her evidence-based, translational approach to patient care. From 2018 to 2022, she also served as Medical Coordinator of the Neuro-Oncology Center at University Medicine Essen.
