Dr Baums specialises in the conservative and surgical treatment of conditions, injuries and deformities of the human musculoskeletal system.

So, as a certified knee surgeon (DKG – the German Knee Society), he performs meniscus fixations, meniscus replacement surgery, cartilage replacement surgery, cartilage cell transplantations, cruciate ligament replacement surgery and the insertion of artificial knee joints, for example, at the orthopaedic-accident surgery clinic of St Elisabeth’s Hospital, Dorsten. As a certified shoulder and elbow surgeon (DVSE – the German Shoulder and Elbow Surgery Association e.V.), Asst Lect. Dr Baums is primarily concerned with the surgical treatment of injuries to the rotator cuff and shoulder conditions such as calcific tendinitis of the shoulder, injuries to the shoulder joint, shoulder instability or impingement syndrome.
